Sinopsis:
Cerita film Outside the Wire berlatar di masa depan, tepatnya pada 2036, saat Amerika Serikat menjalankan tugasnya sebagai penjaga perdamaian. Pada masa ini, tentara manusia dibantu oleh robot tempur. Suatu ketika, seorang pilot drone bernama Letnan Thomas Harp (Damson Idris) ditugaskan untuk memantau pertempuran dari jarak jauh. Namun, ia justru membangkang perintah atasannya dan turun tangan dalam sebuah konflik.
Atas perbuatannya itu, Thomas dikirim ke zona militer berbahaya. Di situlah ia bertemu dengan Kapten Leo (Anthony Mackie), yang membawanya menyusup ke zona demiliterisasi untuk menemukan Viktor Koval (Pilou Asbæk), seorang panglima perang yang berniat meluncurkan senjata nuklir. Seiring berjalannya waktu, Thomas mulai mengetahui kalau Leo adalah perwira militer Android rahasia dengan kekuatan dan kecepatan yang luar biasa.
